Albums
Toto's discography includes 13 studio albums and four live albums. There are also compilations. Toto has released original music and collaborated with other artists on soundtracks and films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed The members of the band played session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. The group's collaboration led to formation of Toto in 1976.
Turn Back, Toto's third studio album, was criticized by critics due to lacking hit singles. In 1985 the singer Fergie Frederiksen quit the group, and the band held auditions to find the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the album Fahrenheit in 1986.
In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by going through several old demos and tapes to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans, and Toto embarked on an extensive tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.
Shem von Schröck replaced Leland Sklar as drummer during the tour for the 40 Trips Around the Sun album. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included recordings from the tour as well as an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock band from the US that was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The group of six includes vocalist/guitarist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich as well as keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro and guitarist/vocalist Joseph Williams. The diverse mix of influences within the group makes it one of the most well-known groups of all time. In 1983, the group released Toto IV, which earned them worldwide acclaim. After the success of the album the group embarked on a tour around the world in support of the album. During the tour, lead vocalist Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. The band decided to let him go at the end of the tour and then hired singer/guitarist Joseph Williams in his place. Drummer David Hungate also left the band following the tour. He was replaced by bassist Leland Sklar.
The TOTO Museum is an impressive futuristic structure that houses a number of exhibition rooms dedicated solely to telling the story of the company and its most innovative products. Its exhibits include toilets faucets, and tableware that have supported the growth of the TOTO brand over the last half century. The museum hosts special exhibits all throughout the year.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The group has also released numerous compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the group is "Africa" which has more than one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library, where the band performs on top of the stack of African books.
The song "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. The song was written by band members and was produced by David Paich. It was a big hit in Europe and other countries. The single's success helped Toto gain popularity following their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.
Following the release of the album, Toto went on a world tour. The group included touring musicians Lenny Castro, Shannon Forrest, Warren Ham and Shem von Schroeck. Steve Lukather also released his second solo record, Luke.
In 1985, Fergie Frederiksen, Toto's drummer, left the group for personal reasons. Toto held an audition to find the replacement for Frederiksen.
Prior to and during the creation of Toto, its members did session work for various artists. Drummer Jeff Porcaro and bassist David Hungate played on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs, which led to Toto's formation. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan's records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto started working on a project entitled Old Is New. This album featured three new tracks as well as a number of completed recordings of older songs. The album became a huge hit and the band went on tour to promote it.

Toto is famous for their popular song "Africa" The group recently came together to promote their latest album, All In. The album debuted on November 6, 2018 and featured three new songs from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, plus recorded versions of four older tracks with Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also included an original cover of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" which the band decided to add after hearing the song on the radio.
